Chrissi Island (Golden Island) just off the south coast of Crete is one of the 81 uninhabited isles around the island of Crete and is reached by boat from Ierapetra and is protected as an “area of intense beauty” with the majority of trees with an average age of 200 years or older overlooking the golden sands and turquoise waters.
